The MTA has taken a leadership role to support the growth of small business in the transportation and construction
industry in New York State. We have created a new road map for building small business participation at the MTA.
For the past four years, the MTA is opening its doors even wider to encourage all small businesses including, but not
limited to, MTA Certi ed Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) and New York State Certi ed Minority andWomen
Business Enterprise (MWBEs) construction contractors to learn, earn and grow through participation in a program
especially designed for them.
The program is based on helping your rm overcome the barriers to entry which have historically prevented emerging
small business enterprises from gaining access to the New York State Construction Industry.
Several categories of rms are eligible to register for the MTA Small Business Development Training Program:
Pre-quali ed MTA Small Business Mentoring Program (SBMP) Contractors
MTA Small Business Federal Program (SBFP) Contractors
All small businesses including, but not limited to, certi ed Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) and certi ed
Minority or Women Business Enterprises (MWBEs)
Our goal is to help you better learn how to do business with the MTA, grow your technical capacity to bid and win MTA
projects designated for rms of your size. To receive more information about participation in our programs, please call
